Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: 23 October 2026
1. Who this page is for
2. Delete a WapTalk account and its data
Email privacy@waptalk.in from the email address of a workspace admin, with the subject “Delete my WapTalk account” and your business name. We confirm the request by email and may ask you to verify that you own the workspace.
We then delete, or irreversibly anonymise, the workspace’s data within 90 days. That includes:
- the business profile, team members and their logins;
- connected WhatsApp numbers and their encrypted access tokens;
- contacts, conversations and messages;
- knowledge-base documents and the search index built from them;
- message templates, campaigns, automation flows and analytics.
We keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices and payment records for tax purposes. Your WhatsApp Business Account itself belongs to you on Meta and is not deleted by us.
To stop WapTalk using a number straight away, open the dashboard, go to Settings → WhatsApp Numbers and disconnect it: the stored access token is deleted at once.
3. If you connected WhatsApp with Facebook
When you use “Connect WhatsApp”, Facebook shares with WapTalk the IDs of the business, WhatsApp Business Account and phone number you chose, and an access token that lets WapTalk send and receive messages for that number. WapTalk does not receive or store your Facebook profile, friends or posts.
To remove WapTalk’s access and have this data deleted:
- Disconnect the number in WapTalk under Settings → WhatsApp Numbers.
- Remove WapTalk’s access in Meta: in Meta Business Settings, open Integrations → Connected apps, select WapTalk and remove it. Meta then tells WapTalk the access was removed.
- Email privacy@waptalk.in if you also want the rest of your workspace data deleted (section 2).
Once access is removed, the access token stops working and we delete it.
4. If you messaged a business that uses WapTalk
The business you messaged controls your conversation with it; WapTalk processes those messages on its instructions. Ask that business to delete your data first. If you cannot reach it, email privacy@waptalk.in with your WhatsApp number and the business name, and we will help. Replying STOP to the business also stops further messages at once.
